Himachal Pradesh lies in the vicinity of Himalayan ranges of Dhauladhar, the Great
Himalayas, Shiwalik and Pir Panjal, of the western Himalaya, where most of its

In Himachal Kufri:
Kufri is located 19-kms from Shimla on the National Highway No.22. It has a Himalayan
Nature park. Kufri began to be recognised as the tourist attraction soon after
the Britishers made the Shimla the summer capital in1864. Near Shimla, Kufri is
one of the oldest places in India to be associated with skiing and the slopes
are still in use during winter. Above Kufri, the Mahasu ridge also has good slopes.
Narkanda : Comprehensive facilities exist
at Narkanda, 64-km from Shimla . There is a range of slopes, including a beginners'
run, an advanced slope and a slalom run Himachal Tourism offers ski courses, instruction
and has equipment on hire at Narkanda. Manali
: At Manali, the Directorate of Mountaineering and Allied Sports offers
a variety of courses and facilities for skiing in winter. Winter and summer skiing
are possible in the Solang Nala Situated 17
kms. From Manali-it offers a unique experience which even is shocking for people
who had visited this place in summers. A vast snow field and one of the best slope
which is safe and secure for both tourist and skier.A moderate level of hotels
which suits almost every budget. Skiing in Himalayas is
done from Jan- March only.Ski courses are conducted during this period at all
